Hey! Welcome to Rockaway Candle Co's first ever blog post. I'm not much of a writer, so bear with me, but I have been getting a ton of repeating messages through email and instagram, and I figured the best way to answer them without having to write the same messages over and over again is start a blog.
I've always wanted RCco to be more than just a candle shop. I want to be able to give you inspiration for a cozy, well-loved and lived in lifestyle; candles are just one part of that. I've just recently moved into a new apartment and honestly I was so excited to live somewhere new because it gave me an opportunity to redesign my living space. When I tell you that one of my favorite things in life is interior design, I'm not kidding. I spent hours on Pinterest compiling inspiration for my new home. Beautiful Sixpenny couches, Amber Interior dressers, and Crate + Barrel coffee tables filled my different Pinterest boards, but there was one catch, I don't have money like that.
IKEA + Facebook marketplace became my best friend. The amount of time I spent contacting different marketplace sellers and researching IKEA hacks was insane (probably should have spent that time on my business but yolo). With my first big IKEA DIY under my belt, I can confidently say it was worth it.
The Product:
I bought 4 IKEA Billy bookcases with the height extenders. Obviously measure your wall's width and height to figure out how many bookcases you will need and if you want the extra height on top like I did.
Pro-tip, on the IKEA website you can check if the item you want is in stock and where exactly it is in the store that way you can get in and out.
